October Finishes

I thought I had finished more than I had this month, after all, there were 31 days in the month.

First there was the Fat Quarter Shop Designer BOM block...

and the five Christmas Stitchalong embroidery blocks...

I spent one weekend basting 600+ hexies...

which did produce another 10 flowers.

And finally a finished This and That Mystery Monday quilt.

I am linking for the first time with...

Mystery Solved

I finished the This and That Mystery Mondays first mystery, and I have to say I enjoyed it.

They really are fun projects to put together and they don't require a lot of time.  I can hardly wait to see what the next mystery will be.

Now that I posted this I realized something about this.  If you participated in Mystery Mondays and your quilt looks different, it should.  I used the green in one spot rather than the beige.  :)  I still like it, mine is just a bit different than everyone else's.  Wow, it's been a long week!

I did finish flowers 73 through 76 this weekend.  I'm over halfway now, which feels good, but there is still a long way to go.  Making a quilt is a journey though, and I think I'm actually realizing that more and more lately.  I have definitely learned a lot in the past year, and you'd think after having quilted for as many years as I have that there wouldn't be much more to learn.  I guess this means I will never be bored or tired of it...good thing, because I have a lot of fabric to use.  :)

686 hexies

Okay, its been a while...and wow have I been busy.  I have found some time to work on a few things though. ;)

I started thinking the other day that I might actually get some hexagon flowers finished if I had some basted.  SO, last Friday I started basting and basting and basting.  When I reached 686 hexies I realized that would equal 98 more flowers and that is more than I need.  So, I'll either make the quilt a bit larger, or I'll make a pillow or two.  Tonight is the FNSI so maybe, just maybe there will be some finished flowers tomorrow! :)

Then I thought I should get my blocks done for the Christmas Stitchalong.  I finished the bear yesterday and got up early this morning and finished the Christmas tree.  I guess you could actually say I'm ahead of the game (I should mark this on the calendar because it is about the first time in my life that I am able to say that).

And last, but not least I finished the Mystery Mondays clue for this week.  I have no idea if this is how this will end up, but it is definitely fun to work on.

I am going to link with Whoop! Whoop! Fridays this week, and tonight the Friday Night Sew In.  Now, what to work on. :)  Thanks so much for stopping by...Happy Stitching!  --Kristen

WIP Wednesday

Thank you to everyone who voted for my quilt last week. It was one of those things where you have to try it once, learn from it, and move on.  :)  My quilt is hanging on my wall again, and we are enjoying it.  Fall is definitely in the air today, it is raining a little, and you need a sweater or sweatshirt when outside.  I LOVE fall!

I'm on week three of the Christmas Stitchalong.  Remember, if you would like to get this pattern, it is available until Friday.  However, I did change it a bit.  :)

Yesterday I remembered that This and That has Mystery Mondays.  This is a slow paced mystery quilt that is not overwhelming.  She gives a clue each Monday and you do the sewing for the next week. They are on week four, BUT, I did everything this morning in about an hour, cutting and piecing.

There aren't huge fabric requirements either.  I just picked my fabrics out of my stash, and it isn't too late to start.
