Quilting Gallery is celebrating their 5th birthday and what a fun way to celebrate with a blog hop and giveaways. There are tons of giveaways with this blog hop so make sure you check them out here.
We had a wonderful snowy day here in Minnesota so I of course spent it doing some finishing work. There is nothing like being cozy and warm inside while huge white snowflakes are falling outside.
My first project for today was to take the Angelsong block (number 312) and make it into an ornament for our Christmas tree. I added the year to it, a 3/4-inch border, quilted it, added a hanging ribbon, stuffed it, and hung it on the tree. And although I doubt I will ever forget that I made it in 2012, it is always nice to remember the year an ornament was finished, as it seems the older I get the faster the years fly by.
I then decided to quilt my Drop quilt. This time I did not use my BSR, I just turned the speed up on my machine so I could quilt the way I have in the past. It was fun to compare the two as I just quilted a larger quilt using the BSR. I think for smaller quilts I will definitely not us it as I can get smaller stitches and go fast. The bigger quilts I think are definitely for the BESR, especially when there is so much more fabric to work with.
Now for the giveaway...I will be giving away the two fat quarter bundles shown above. One is Parrot Flock and the other Seagull Flock by Thomas Knauer for Andover Fabrics. After laying these out I was wishing I had purchased another one for me. To enter the giveaway leave me a comment letting me know what you would work on if you had one entire uninterrupted day to do nothing but work on a project. Would you piece, quilt, or work on a binding. Would you applique or embroider something or do something entirely different? For a second chance, as always, leave me a comment stating you are a follower or a new follower. This giveaway will be open until Monday, December 15 at 7 p.m. Happy Stitching!! --Kristen

I would probably start a new quilt. I've been wanting to make Bizzy Kid by Cluck Cluck Sew and I have the pattern and fabrics. Maybe I could get it done in a day!
I'm a follower!
I would work on the 9-patch I'm making for a granddaughter.

I have been enjoying your blog for a while now!
Ooh, fab fabric. A whole day just for me?! To dream the impossible dream. ;) I'd finish my Supernova quilt that I'm working on right now. Thanks for the giveaway!
I'm a follower! :)
If I had a whole uninterrupted day to sew, I would once-and-for-all finish the Penny Haren Applique quilt I started over a year ago. I need to finish the binding and then quilt it. I couldn't finish all that in a day but I would certainly get a lot done. . Thanks for the opportunity to win your giveaway.
I'm a happy follower of your blog. . Thanks for the opportunity to win your giveaway.
Beautiful fabric! I would probably work on some of my Christmas projects - new pillow covers, stockings, and a table runner for a gift.
I follow!
I would work on a new project hoping I could start something small and finish it in a day.

If I win I will share my loot with you since you like it so much too!! If I had a whole day,,,,oh to dream, I would quilt on a project for my little one--finish the mini quilts for her American girl beds.
If I had the time, I would love to start a new quilt! Or spend the time finishing up all my WIPs.

I would start and make great progress on a new quilt!
I've been following you for awhile and am so in awe of your daily block making! (Cute angel ornament, by the way!)
I would quilt, since I find it easier to piece in small chunks of time.
I am a start to finish project kind of sewer so I would spend the day working on whatever step I was curretly on. At this moment I am trimming away on lots of HST's. Thanks for the chance at your wonderful giveaway.
I am a follower. Thanks for the second chance.
I am a happy follower!
Golly - that's a hard one! I keep telling myself if I had an entire day in my own sewing space that I'd get to quilting my barn raising BOM and finishing up my scrappy friendship quilt. However, I do love my piecing and it would be nice to clean out some more project boxes.
A whole day to just sew...I would finish my daughters quilt top and start quilting the quilt together. What fun that would be. Thanks for the great giveaway
I am a follower!
I am a follower. Thanks for sharing your creativity. Merry Christmas!
I would finish the I Spy quilt I have been trying to get finished for my oldest grandson. Thanks for the opportunity.

I have designed a fall wall hanging and parts are cut out. That is what I would work one!!
I would piece. I love piecing! Lovely ornament Kristen! I love Angels.
Happy follower as you know my friend! I hope things have been well for you.
I'm a follower :)
ahh a WHOLE interrupted day????? Makes me drool just thinking about it! I'd finish up a twin quilt I'm working on and finally START my sons' Christmas quilts. I've already resolved that they're just getting the quilt tops on Christmas morning, then I will promptly snatch them back (to avoid fraying) and finish them sometime next month, heh heh. I'm a genius.
a whoel day - ha maybe finish up all those UFOs, some of them just need a bidning attached, some need sandwiching and quilting .. and I usuallyl leave those be how am I suppose to baste a quilt in 2 hours and where to store it until I get the next chance to sew?
Aye finishing loose ends it woudl be.
Now if I ould do anything just anything - at this time of the year, prepare a big lunch pack, a thermos bottle of tea take my slefge and find me a decent mountain and then be all groggy in the afternooon and drink more warm tea and read through my current books ..
and a follower here
I am very new to quilting. So I would START a quilt :) SO cutting and piecing!
Im a follower!
Oh my goodness, one whole uninterrupted day?! I wish!!! I'd finish my sister's cot quilt, and maybe even get to start on a stroller quilt for her too...
If I had one whole, full day.. uninterrupted.. OMG.. imagine that! I'd love to get stuck into the Swoon quilt that I have planned for my Grandad. I've cut all the pieces for the blocks, but I haven't pieced any of them yet!
I'm a follower
I would piece.. as piecing requires more off the machine time like pressing and putting them in place / designing them. Thanks for the chance!
I am trying to learn to free motion quilt, so I would spend the day working on that. Fun question!
I am a follower!
I would quilt - I'm trying to improve my FMQ and never seem to have enough uninterrupted time!
I'm a follower!
What a great giveaway! If I had a whole day I would definitely start piecing a new quilt top.
If I had a whole day to sew...I'd piece and hand quilt some UFO's.
I am new to your blog...what fun.
Since I don't usually get them, I have a tendency to use whole days I have for quilting as "found time," and spend it doing fun stuff, like doing a fast project start to finish (like a disappearing 9-patch), or experimental techniques that I've been wanting to play with. Ongoing projects may get a piece of the pie, but I like to spend found time as play time, just like found money should be used for fun too!
I'm a follower! Thanks for the giveaway opportunity.
I would finish Christmas gifts.
I'm a new follower.
I always think that I'm going to finish one of the UFO's - which normally is a complicated piecing project. In reality I know I'll lose interest and have sore shoulders within a few hours, so then I'll kick back on the couch and do some hand quilting until my underside finger gets sore (never mastered an under thimble). Then I'm still good for a little applique.
I would get moving on the'Bluenose' quilt
I would make tags for my quilts. Generous giveaway!
I would work on my knitting WIPs which are far too numerous. Thanks for hosting this giveaway!
I would finish the Carpenter's Wheel quilt top I've been working on forever! It's supposed to go on my bed!
I'm a follower!
If I had a full day to work on one project it would be my purple wonky stars quilt for my granddaughter. I have the pieces all cut out, but haven't done any sewing yet.
A 'turning twenty' quilt pattern is so easy to work up in an uninterrupted day!
I would make my daughter a twirly patchwork skirt.
I love to pick out fabrics, quilt designs and sew quilt tops. Picking out the fabric for me can take a full day sometimes.
I sew every day! but with a 4mt old baby.... I sew, piece, iron, long arm quilt :-)
If I had a whole uninteruppted day I would finish up some of my Christmas sewing with Christmas carols playing in the background.
I am a follower.
I would do some hand quilting. I'd love to get better at it, but I rarely seem to have the time to sit down and do it. Thanks for such a generous giveaway!
An entire day just to sew, eh? I'd pull out fabrics I accumulated for a Circle of Nines quilt by Janet Houts and Jean Ann Wright.
I'm a new follower on Google Reader.
I'm a new follower - glad to meet you!
An entire day? I would go through my WIP's and see how many I could crank out! Thanks for the give away!
An uninterrupted day hrmmm. Well this is using our imagination so can safely assume no drug side effects as well. So would work on quilting my "Atlantis Rising" quilt which has been put on hold because of medical reasons.
After that applique or stitchery.
I would finish two quilts that have been looming over my to-do list for a year. They always get pushed aside for newer projects and I'd love a single day to get them finished!
Follower
Well, a whole day to sew would be fantastic! I'd likely piece my Swoon quilt-seems I never have time to work on that one!
Uniterrupted day of creating?
I'd have to work on a few of the stuffed toy patterns I've been meaning to get to. I need a new elephant for my collection.
If I had a whole uninterrupted day I would like to finish quilt tops that are calling out to me.
But of coarse my favorite is the starting a new quilt. From picking out the fabric, cutting and piecing, that's the most fun!
I am now a follower
Don't hate me for admitting this but every day is an uninterrupted day for me. And I spend every one of them doing some sort of quilting.
A whole day?!! I would work on whatever took my fancy - probably some piecing and maybe some embroidery too!
Piecing.. its very relaxing to me and if I had a whole day uninterrupted.. I want it to be as relaxing.

Oh, a whole day?!?!?! I'd just sew anything. Maybe a new bag for myself. =) or start a quilt. Thanks for a chance to win.
I am a follower. =)
I would work on the evergrowing pile of UFO's
If I had a whole uninterrupted day I would spend 75% working on designing my next art quilt (so hard to do that in interrupted chunks) and 25% finishing lots of little projects!
If i had a day - I'd like to finish piecing my Wonky Stars quilt together! It seems a monumental task, as I chose to the blocks at random with lots of white space. - I'm a new quilter.
Thanks for the chance!
I'm a follower by GFC - Merry Christmas!!
I would definitely piece! I find it relaxing!

I'm a new follower.
I tend to only work on one project at a time, so I would probably do whatever needed to be done at the time! Although it is nice to sit down and do a big chunk of quilting in one big sitting, rather than in 15 minute increments over a period of weeks. :)
I would work on the wonky log cabin quilt I'm making for a friend's baby.
I love your background picture, btw.
I actually have taken my last day of vacation this Wednesday and I have the whole day to sew! AMAZING! I'm going to piece together my version of the Value Dance Quilt. It's a gift for my sister!

I would probably work on several UFO's. mostly quilting and binding.
For one uninterrupted day? I think I would finally get over my FMQ hurdle. I've got a baby quilt basted and ready to go, I just need the time! Thank you for the giveaway - these blog hops are such a fun way to 'meet' other bloggers!

For one entire uninteruppted day I would make a red and beige 9 patch quilt for myself. It's like an impossible dream though. It would be nice to be locked away - from phones, doorbells, everyday chores. Wow, you could certainly make a good dent in that red and beigh stash. I love your 2 fat quarter giveaways. Somebody will be doing some quilting soon. Happy Holidays.
