Mother's Favorite, Your Dream Project, and A Giveaway

When I sit and work on my block each night I think about things that I never have the time to think about otherwise.  The other night I had this thought...If I had all the tools, fabric, time, and knowledge what project would I make, especially if I was guaranteed to finish and have it look great.  My list of "want to make" is long, and I mean so long I doubt I could ever finish the whole list.

This is the BOM from The Quilt Show by Sarah Vedeler.  Yeah, I look at it about once a week.  I download the pattern each month and file it away in my trusty binder.  Someday I would love to make this quilt.

I love the patterns by Kelli Wulfsohn at Don't Look Now!  I think this tree might actually be a possibility, that is if I ever get my hands on one of her patterns.  I know I would love to make any of her designs.

There are many other designs that I love to look at and dream about making...and since I am just linking with SewMamaSew for Giveaway Day (which is really a week) and there are only two days left, I wanted my giveaway to help you maybe get started on that project you really want to do someday, or help you work on your "now" project.

I purchased a pair of these Olfa scissors a while ago and I love them.  I don't care if I'm using them on fabric, yarn, or felt, they are wonderful.  If you would like a chance to win this pair, leave me a comment telling me what your dream project is.  I can't wait to see what everyone would love to work on..and I just bet I might find something that I would love to add to my list.  If you would like a second chance, leave another comment letting me know you are a follower.  The winner will be chosen by random.org on Friday, May 25,  at 8 p.m. (Central Standard time), so hurry and leave me a comment!

Today's block (Mother's Favorite) is a fun one with a lot of half-square triangles.  It actually looks much more complicated than it is.  It is number 144 of 366 and it is a 12-inch block.  Happy Stitching!!  --Kristen

Wow, I think my dream project is likely a Swoon quilt. It's the size of the project, needs such a amount of fabric to finish the quilt top and then the backing.... Oy! I might need to stick to lap quilts for a while longer while I build up my courage!

Is it sad to say that my dream project is to either make a quilt (any quilt!) or knit a sweater for myself? I am always making all kinds of projects for other people that the things I'd like to make for myself just never get done. Maybe this year is the year?

Thanks for the great giveaway opportunity!

Seja feliz.Beijo.tiacarminhapezzuto@gmail.com

My dream project would be an intricately quilted whole cloth quilt. It would be amazing to be so skilled at quilting to accomplish that-- not yet, unfortunately!

I always wanted to learn stained glass. As far as quilting goes, I'm brand new and working on a basic block baby quilt but someday I hope to have the skills to try a Dresden plate quilt or a pattern I saw online from an old issue of Quilters Newsletter called Yippity Yap quilt which is so cute.

I would love to make a heavily appliqued quilt. I have admired them from a distance but knew I would never make one. In magazines I would just gloss over them. I recently made some table runners with needle turned appliqued and surprised myself by enjoying the process.

To be honest, I don't have a dream project at the moment. I just want to keep sewing gifts and quilts and maybe some clothes. Sure, I have a list of things I want to get done, but I wouldn't call any of them "dream projects." They are just simple projects/quilts that I know exactly who I'll give it to or exactly where I'll put it in the house... At the moment, I just want to quilt the three tops I have lying in the spare room (two are gifts and one is for me!). Thanks for the giveaway!
