Hand of Friendship and a Finished UFO

Wow has today been a good day.  I completed my block early, and I finished a quilt that has been a UFO for a long time! :)

Everyday it is the same thing, I flip the calendar, look at the block, and then at some point head to the sewing room to choose fabrics, cut, and sew.  You can probably tell I was in a REALLY good mood today.  We had an unseasonably warm and sunny day today, and I must have really been in a sunny mood.  When I finished this block it almost startled me to realize just how bright it was.  But you know, I really like it.  My son's favorite color is yellow, and I guess yellow is quickly becoming a color I love too!  This is block 33 of 366, is a 14-inch block, and is called Hand of Friendship.

I pieced this wall hanging over a year ago, and I was so worried about quilting it that it just sat waiting to be worked on.  I started quilting it last night and almost finished it, but didn't quite make it.  I used my new walking foot that makes stitching in the ditch a dream.  You don't watch the needle, you watch the foot, and it makes it so easy to quilt.  I then did some stippling on the borders, put the binding on, and it is ready to hang.  What a good feeling.  I think I realized today just what a good feeling it is to have it completely finished...and that is a good thing because Judy drew number 1 this month which is...

my Honey Bee quilt.  It just needs quilting and binding too, and I'm actually excited to get working on it.  Have a wonderful evening and Happy Stitching!!  --Kristen

Wow! You have had a great day. Love the block and your finished UFO is gorgeous. Love how you have quilted it too. Some people go too over the top at times.

You have several nice projects going here. Do show your quilting when you finish them! I'd love to see how you finish them. (I have hopes of learning to free motion quilt this year. So tops I piece will have to wait for my FMQ skills to improve!)
