Metro Lattice Is Finished!!

Life got hectic and I was not planning on being gone this long.  My son turned 14 and a new school year has started.  I set up our new computer, which has Windows 8 and is something fun, exciting, and frustrating all in and of itself.  I have a new insulin pump which I am getting used to for my type I diabetes, and with all the new technology, I think I just needed a break.  With the time away I realized just how much I missed my quilting, and today I finished my Metro Lattice!!!

I quilted it in a 1-1/2 inch grid which was fun and taught me a few things about quilting straight lines. This quilt took me to the outer limits of my quilting experience, it tested me beyond testing, and it made me realize that if I put my mind to it, I can do it!  I needed a little break away from it, but I am so excited to use it to take a well deserved nap.  I am linking up to the Sew Kind of Wonderful Link Up AND I am going to participate in their Curve It Up Challenge.  Happy Stitching!!  --Kristen

Oh, wow! That is just gorgeous...I love the design and colors! Windows 8 took me a while to get used to and I still have moments with it where I'd like to toss it, but I'm adjusting. Glad to see you back!

No wonder you needed a break! I thought I was exhausted an I'm just thinking of what is ahead. I'm going to visit my daughter for three weeks and then I have a lumpectomy when I get back. I haven't even told her about it yet. I don't see any need. It's where my first one was and all four doctors, yes 4, do not think the cancer has returned. It appears to be scar tissue causing all the pain. The surgeon doesn't want to operate on a radiated breast and then have me go out of state. Now, I'm sure I have a kidney stone, so I'm enjoying everyone's wonderful creations. I have the ruler on my wishlist and don't know if I can handle it. You are an inspiration in many ways - many thanks. Your quilt is awesome. I always enjoy your blog and your creations.
