Shake Your Pom Poms!

I have loved pom poms since I was a little girl.  I signed up for cheerleading in fourth grade for the shear swishing of the pretty pom poms I was able to use.  I had a girlfriend who would sit with me and make pom poms out of yarn all summer long using only those horrible cardboard circles.

For the Shake Your Pom Poms blog hop I started out knitting tiny little newborn hats and making equally small pom poms for the top.  I can't wait for the babies to get here that we are waiting for so they can wear them!

I have loved the Creative Breathing blog and wait anxiously for her creations.  I have always wanted to make one of Elizabeth's characters and this was the perfect opportunity.  They are so beautiful and so fun to look at.  The only problem...which one to choose.

Yes everything is made and sewn by hand.  I asked my son what he thought of my little friend and he said "It looks like a mailman Mom."  Perfect, that is just what he is.  :)

I of course want to thank Madame Samm and Thearica for being our cheerleaders once again.  Please take a minute and check out the rest of today's participants.  Happy Stitching!!  --Kristen

I knit preemie hats from time to time for a NICU in Albuquerque. My daughter's two sons were each born there prematurely. I knitted a hat for the second one (she had been assured he would not be premature and he came earlier than his brother). It was about the size of my fist and it was too big for him. I do have a picture of him in the NICU with the hat - tubes and all.
Children can be very helpful with comments. Of course, mailmen bring deliveries, too. Wow! In these hops I am always amazed by your projects. And this one is all hand stitched. Thanks for sharing your son's comment (I think we all liked it); participating in the hop; inspiring us; and giving us something to always look forward to in the hop. Itis so much fun to see each person's unique take on the theme and all the creativity.
