My Take on the "D" Block

Each time I glanced at today's block I was not excited about it.  After piecing it I figured out why and how I could fix it...

The first picture is how it should look according to the calendar.  The second picture is how I like it.

All I would need to do to make this second one be a 7-1/2 inch block is to add a white strip the length of the block and omit the half-square triangles.  The calendar is more "Old English" looking, the bottom is more me.  I think I will be taking off the half-square triangles on both this block and the "B."  This is block number 253 of 366.  Happy Stitching!!  --Kristen
