After last night's little mishap with the photos I'm back.  I thought and thought about what I wanted to do, and at this point quitting just isn't an option, and I am in no way ready to start deleting all my photos to make room for more.  I should have more space than I need for a while, and by the time I run out hopefully I will be more prepared than I was this time for it.

And truth be told, I don't know what happened, but my photo is loading tonight?!?  Leave it to Blogger.  At any rate this is a 12-inch block and is number 188 of 366.  It's all half square triangles and a little fun in the middle, although I really think the square in the middle needs a little something more.  I will be putting these red, white, and blue blocks together for a quilt at some point...and I'm getting ready to move onto another color scheme soon so there will not be many more.

One more thing...please don't think that because we have already started the Summer 9-Patch Quilt Along that it's too late to join.  People are just starting, and we will be working at least through the first weekend in September.  I am working a bit faster on mine as I want to make two quilts and one is a king size so I have more 9-patches to make.  This is a work at your own pace quilt along, and please do not be shy about showing us your work.  The button is still on my side bar, so if you are still thinking about it, please join us!  There are more pictures on the Meadowbrook Facebook page and are they pretty!!!  I'm linking today with Find a Friend Friday and Can I Get a Whoop Whoop?  Happy Stitching!!  --Kristen 

Strength In Union and 9-Patch Link Up

Today's block uses all half-square triangles and squares.  Easy, which is what I needed today.  The heat has not let up yet, and I'm beginning to get a little stir crazy from being in the house for so long.  I love fresh air and open windows and I'm hoping this heat wave gives up soon.

I think I'm getting punch drunk on 9-patches, when I downloaded this picture all I could see were the squares looking like 9-patches.  The heat must be getting to me. :) This is block number 187 of 366 and it is a 10-inch block.

Well, it seems I've exceeded my "free" storage space for my photos on blogger...and they now want me to start paying for this...I need to do some checking before I do this, so I will not be showing you my 9-patches today.  If anyone knows how to get around this other than switching to type pad please let me know.  Check out the Meadowbrook Facebook page for my 9-patches, I will be posting photos here again this evening. :)

Philadelphia Pavement and Some 9-Patch Prep

Happy Fourth of July!  We had extreme heat today (115 heat indices), so I thought my time would be best spent in the sewing room.  I did leave the sewing machine to spend time with my family too, but I seem to be an extreme wimp in extreme heat.

Today's block has a shoo fly block in the middle.  It was a quick and easy block so I had time to work on my 9-patches.  This is a 10-inch block and is number 186 of 366.

I decided that my time would be better spent if I had all my strips cut.  That way when I have short periods of time I can grab strips and sew some 9-patches rather than cutting and then trying to piece them all at once.

After my strips were cut I started sewing sets together.  I'm excited to cut tomorrow and have some more finished blocks.  I'm linking with WIP Wednesday.  Happy Stitching!!

Independence Square

This block has another 9-patch and some rail fence pieces.  My son noticed that this block does not have a lot of white in it like most of the other blocks I've made so far.  He also noticed that the stack of finished blocks is getting to be quite large.  :)

Uncle Sam's Hourglass And A Christmas Project

Tonight I have another block with a 9-patch in the middle.  See, the more I look for them, the more I find.  This block really works well with a variety of fabrics used.

This is block number 184 of 366 and it is a 12-inch block. 

I don't know how many of you remember this project.  It is my Christmas tree skirt that I started last November and then realized just how big of a project it is.  I've been cutting and appliqueing and beading like mad this last weekend trying to see if I can't get it finished for this Christmas.

It seems Mary Engelbreit thought this tree skirt needed a lot of these flowered candies sprinkled throughout the snow.  This is the one I have finished, and each candy has 8 felt pieces before you add the beads.  It is so hot right now it is really hard to think about Christmas, but if I don't think about it now, we won't have a finished tree skirt again this year.  I'm linking with Design Wall Monday and Manic Monday.  Happy Stitching!!  --Kristen

Stars and Strips And I Made It Half Way!!!

I have been so excited for this day for so long and here it is and I'm just so exhausted I don't feel like celebrating it.  It has been one long weekend with family emergencies, hair cuts, grocery shopping, and some wicked heat which just drains a person anyway.  And once I started this block I just was not excited about it, until I saw it on the computer.

When I was finishing this block I just thought yuck, but I really do like it now.  I think it is one that you need to walk away from after working on it and then walk back again to appreciate it.  This is block number 183 of 366 and it is a 12-inch block....we've made it half way!!!! I sure hope you can stick it out with me for the next 183...it sometimes gets a bit lonely here each night, but your comments always keep me going and for that I am so thankful!

Stash Report....

There was nothing in this week (GASP) and nothing out, although I did finish a few things, I just can't count them yet....I feel like a broken record, but soon, oh so soon some great strides have to be made.

Summer Winds

Summer winds sound so nice right now.  This past week has been unusually hot and humid and I think a cool summer breeze sounds wonderful.  This next week is a holiday week and it sounds to be just as hot as the last.

Can you see the half-square triangles and the flying geese?  I remember starting at the beginning of the year and hating both of those, now they are my favorite things to piece.  Once a person gets the hang of them they are such an asset.  This is block number 182 of 366 and it is a 12-inch block.  Happy Stitching!!  --Kristen
