Beat The Winter Blues Blog Hop And A Giveaway!!!
You know, I can't say I really have the winter blues because we haven't seen much winter here this year...that is until this past week. We received 11 inches of snow between Monday and Tuesday and it is so pretty and white everywhere it kind of makes it hard to have the winter "blues." To top it all off my son has his annual school ski day today so we will be spending the entire day out in all that winter whiteness. It is supposed to be warm, although some of you may not think that 30 degrees F is very toasty. I'm packing a bag today with some of my favorite things to do when I'm not helping the kids find the right ski boots, skis, get everything on correctly, or helping them stay standing during ski school.
I usually pack my "to go" bag with a few too many projects. Today I am going to try and finish these embroidered hexagons so I can get this quilt finished. The blocks are all put together and just waiting for these embroidered middles. I'm even making sure I have enough extra floss to complete them, and there will be some paper hexagons and my glue pen in my bag just in case they are needed.
I've got 15 fat quarters of Lynette Anderson's Hollyhock Cottage to help you beat those winter blues and start thinking about a visit to a spring/summer cottage. All you have to do to enter is leave a comment telling me if you would ski today with the kids or if you would pack a "to go bag" to sit inside and stitch while you waited (it's warm in there). You can have a second chance to win by leaving another comment letting me know you are a follower. This drawing will take place on Thursday, March 14 at 5 p.m. CST so you have plenty of time to enter and I will ship anywhere. Happy Stitching!! --Kristen

I do follow....I don't ski either..lol
I don't ski... Had an "accident" on the slopes when I was 16 and never got back on skis. It terrifies me now! :-). So I would definitely be inside.
I would pack a bag of projects and stay toasty warm inside... I think my skiing days may be over.
And I am a follower! Thanks for the fabulous giveaway!

Ummm, I'd choose option # 3--to go on vacation to a tropical beach!
I'd probably go skiing since I have 3 kids and wouldn't be allowed to sit out, but I'd do some stitching when I could sneak it in. Thanks for the chance!
I am a follower!
i have never skied, but I would probably try it for fun, though I'd still love to sit inside and sew, maybe some hand sewing on ahhhh hexies.

I don't ski and I'm very much a homebody....what do you think I'd choose?!!! LOL!

My knees say stay off the slopes or have the ambulance on stand by!
I would stay inside and stitch. Thanks for the giveaway!
I'm a follower, too!
I would be inside stitching. Even though I live in NH, I never learned how to ski.
I'm stitching for me, please...it's safer!
I'm a follower
Only if I could cross country ski otherwise I would just enjoy stitching
I'm a follower now.
I think I would have to ski with the kids, as I am conscious of how quickly they grow up and move on, and that is when I will sit and sew!
I am an avid follower
I used to ski when I was younger but I think those days are long gone so I'd stay inside and sew. e. Thanks for the opportunity to win your giveaway.
I'm a long-time follower. e. Thanks for the opportunity to win your giveaway.
I'm definitely a sit-inside-and-sew person. I don't like to be cold and wet, so skiing is out for me.
I am a follower. If you asked me this question 25 years ago it would have been hit the slopes, today stitch a project on the sidelines
um, with four kids 5 and under, I'd opt to stay inside :)
I follow your blog!
I am a happy follower!
I love snow so I'd be out there - at least for a little while - trying to stand up and maybe even ski. Have fun!
Downhill skiing is out for me since I broke my leg, if there were cross country trails I'd be out there. Otherwise inside!
I'm a follower and would love your beautiful stack of blues!
I'm a follower. I would stay inside where it is warm, since I don't ski. Thanks for chance to win.
I'm a follower of your blog. I haven't skied in several years so I might give it a go.
Oh sit in and sew sounds perfect, altough I really love to spend time skiing.
I am a happy follower too! And those fabric are so beautiful!
I'm another chicken of the ski, a bad knee since my teens keeps my feet planted squarely on the ground. That being said "a bag-to-sew" would be for me!
Of course I'm a follower, your creations are amazing :)
Thank you for the chance.
I definitely would sit and sew, take a little walk once in a while, but stay away from skiis! I have too many creaky bits already without deliberately trying to add more!
I follow!
I would WANT to sit inside where it is warm, but I would probably be out with them making memories for them.
Your blues are gorgeous and I am a follower.
I would sit inside and sew.
I am a follower. Thanks.
I am an avid follower of your fabulous blog!!!
I would do my very best to ski and try not to embarrass my child by breaking a limb!!!
I am an avid follower of your fabulous blog!!!
I read your blog regularly on Google Reader, so technically, I am a follower.
The lodge lobby near the fireplace would be the perfect place to work on my knitting projects.
I would pack some projects and stay off the slopes. That's what I did last time the guy took a detour to snowboard on our way home. I got 2.5 crochet squares finished!
Thanks for the chance to win.
I'm a follower.
I am a follower.
I don't know how to ski, so I would probably stay inside.
I'm a new follower!
I love looking at the snow and cold weather from inside a safe and warm house, preferable with a few stitching projects and maybe a book or two to go with a mug of hot cocoa ;)

I would ski a little and stich a little!
I would be packing a "to go bag" and staying inside. The last time I went skiing I got pregnant! LOL

I'd be inside by the fire reading a good book, or outside at the bottom of the slopes getting some good photos.
I am a happy follower. :)
It depends on how cold it is outside - too cold, I would be inside!
Thanks for the giveaway - I follow!!
I would sit inside and sew. I have several UFO's that are perfect for a ski day =)
I'm a follower!

Follower here...I've had enough skiing to last a lifetime and now covet warmth and time to myself...so stay inside!!!!
To go bag for me so I don't break anything!
Already following!
I don't downhill ski so I would be taking my sewing with me on that trip... however if it was a cross country ski day I'd be out there soaking up the sun. And not getting any sewing done.
I am a follower. :)
I would definitely ski. Love it but have only been on man made snow a half dozen times. Such pretty fabrics. Thanks for the chance to win.
I have been a follower for quite some time.
I cross country ski and you can't do that all afternoon... so then I would spend the rest of the day inside working on a project (probably taking a naperooo too!)
I am already a follower via GFC - thanks for a second chance... this bundle would beat the winter blues outta me!!
I might ski, I have only gone once. I would sled. Then have a glass of hot cocoa.
Follow on gfc.
I've never been skiing and I'd love to try it one day but I'd rather sew most days :)
I'm a very happy follower! Thanks for hosting such a fab giveaway :)
Well this is a easy one, can't ski, never could so I would stay in with my projects. And to think I spent over 30 years in Alaska and never picked up any winter sports!
I would pack a to go bag...I'm all for helping the kiddies but once they are set I'm all for inside where it's warm and I can craft! Thanks for the chance at your awesome giveaway.
I am a happy follower.
I would definitely pack a bag
I would love to ski!

What a great prize pack! I would love to make a blue and white quilt if I were your lucky winner! I would definitely be inside stitching by the fire. Thanks for a great giveaway chance.

Wow, fantastic give-away Kristen.
Michele
Id do both. I don't ski but it would give the kids a good laugh and then after that id go inside and stitch :o)
I am also a loyal follower. Thank you for the chance, hugs
Me, I would sit inside and sew. Not much for the cold.
I follow on GFC as Stephanie Hastie
I would be staying inside and sew. I don't bounce as well as I did when I was younger, so I would play it safe. Thanks for a chance.
I would sit inside and quilt because I'm hoping to finish the one I'm working on by the end of March. Lovely blues! Thanks for participating in the giveaway.
I am a follower. Thanks for another chance.
I'm a follower (and love it!). Thanks.
I am a follower. Now that I am a transplant southerner from the north I don't care too much for cold anymore. Sitting inside sewing sounds perfect for me!
Definitely the "to go bag". Someone has to keep the fire stoked and the hot chocolate warm! Enjoy your day and many thanks!
ellen(at)myerly(dot)net
I would pack a bag and stay inside by the cozy fire.
I follow you by GFC
I am in the middle....It is about 45 degrees outside so that is too cold for me to be out so I am a stay inside. This is an awesome give a way to stay inside and keep on a stitching
I am a follower..
I would pack a bag and sew! Love those middles are you doing the Vignettes quilt? Thanks for the chance to win!
I am a follower.
If there was snow on the ground, I would definitely go skiing!
Packing a project..no skiing for me..warm weather girl..
warmth and project, I'm afraid...my skiing days are over.
oh...and I'm absolutely a follower :)
Warmth and project! Last time I put anything on the bottom of my feet that wasn't a grippy flat sole, I broke my leg! Warmth and project for sure!
I am also a follower! :o)
thank you for the chance to win. since I am afraid of heights I would be packing some sewing with me
I've always gone skiing with the rest of the family, but I would love to ski half day and stitch the other half! Is that an option? Thanks for a great give away!

No skiing here for me
Follow via Google+
I would be the one sitting in the ski lodge by the fireplace with a good book, or with my to go bag of items I could hand sew.
I'm a follower of yours.
I would be out on my snowboard or x-c skis... maybe sewing if there was a way to do it on the chairlift.
My boys would make me ski so I think I would have to be outside with them!
I can't ski, so I'd have to curl up by the fire with some stitching and watch them through the window...
I would ski, especially on a beautiful day with fresh snow!
I am a follower!
Now this is one generous giveaway!
I do not ski (anything that involves the risk of breaking or damaging limbs is not for me). I would be indoors with a hot chocolate, looking through the window and watching a while sewing.
Wow. What a giveaway! We're in the South. I have never snow skied in my life... I water ski. So I would sit out and watch my kids snow ski. ;)
Well, 38 years in Vermont and I never learned to downhill ski! Now if I could go snowshoe, I'd do that in the balmy 30 degree weather. Since moving south.... I'd sit and stitch from my very full 'to go' bag in front of a fire and watch them come down the hill!
My vote depends upon the weather. If it is sunny with no wind, I'm going skiing. Blizzard contitions...frigid.. yea, I'm staying inside.
Definitely inside with hot cocoa
I am a new follower on google reader.
I'll take the 'to go bag' and be happy by the fire stitching away with a mug of hot cocoa! :)
I am a follower!
I would rather sit inside with a project bag. But I would sit in front of a HUGE window and next to the fire. I would have a waiter bring me herbal tea and little lemon cookies.
I would actually snowboard! Love to be out there playing with my kid!
and I am a new follower :)
Gorgeous fabric - thanks for the chance to win. I would like to say that I would join the kids but I would really stay inside. I only went skiing once and I did not do too well, although it was a lot of fun!
I would ski definately! Thanks for a chance to win!
I will go skiing! Beautiful fabrics you are giving away!
:( I'm afraid I would have to pack a sewing kit and sit by the fire - I have osteoporosis and can't take a chance on breaking a bone - skiing is out for me - but I sure would have my camera handy with a zoom lens to take photos!
This is my first blog hop. Love the blue fabrics. Thanks for the chance to comment.

I would ski, I think.., and quilt later :) that stack looks like it would be great to use in the boy quilt pattern in Kristyne Czepuryk new book!
We are not a skiing family so I would surely be stitching. What a beautiful set of fabrics. Fingers crossed. Enjoy the Hop!
Soooooo not a skiier! I would definately be stitching and waiting.
I would like to say I would be skiing but that would be a lie lol... I would be stitching :)
I try to stay indoors during the winter, not much on the snow. Thanks for a chance to win some lovely fabrics, I'm a follower!
Since I don't like the snow or cold and can't ski, guess I would stay in and sew.
In my younger days I would have been out on the slopes, but these days I'm very much and sit and stitch inside kind of girl.
I'd go skiing with the kids, I haven't been skiing for almost 15 years, so it's overdue. I can sit inside and sew every day after work.
Thanks for this generous giveaway!
Ten years ago I would have said definitely bring a "to-go" bag. But now that I have been married for six years and the husband has converted me, I would not miss the chance to ski. Especially if I got to go with my kids. My twins are 1 and I'm so excited to watch them learn to ski at a young age (I had to learn when I was in my 20's). Also, I understand about 30 being warm. We went skiing last week and it was 47 at the top of the hill. I thought I was going to melt!
I would definitely bring a "to-go" bag along and work on my stitching. Thanks for the chance to win your giveaway.
I am a follower of your blog.
I would pack a bag of projects to wait with. Thanks so much for the chance.
I'm a new follower.
What a great giveaway!
I would definitely be sitting by the fire stitching and waiting to feed the snowboarders when they come back hungry!
I would go skiing! But I'll stay on the bunny hill, thanks.
Wow, amazing giveaway. Thanks for sharing and for the opportunity on a fantastic draw. I don't ski, so i would definitley sit and stitch.
bonnielarson58@gmail.com
That's an easy question, because we have done this before. My kids love to snowboard, but I love to stay indoors and craft away the hours :-) Thanks for such a generous giveaway.
I am a new follower and that is a very easy question......stay inside and stitch, stitch, stitch. :)
While I am not a big fan of cold weather, I would definitely have to give skiing a try. I've never skied before, so it would definitely be interesting... :)
Ski, Ski Ski, I so miss skiing, but my husband doesn't and so well then I don't get to, bummer, I am hoping when the kids are older I can take them up, but would have to ride a bus or something since once again hussy isn't interested at all.
I am already a follower and thanks for the very pretty giveaway.
I'm following via GFC
I would pack a bag then watch others skiing!
I wouldn't be skiing - I'd be playing road hockey with the kids.
I would be helping skiing if my kiddos where young. But since their not I would be the one in the warmth sith some count cross stitch going on.
I'd definitely be inside where it's warm, probably knitting & drinking some hot chocolate. Thanks for the chance to win.
I'm already a follower. Thanks again.
Hmm, I'd probably end up skiing, at least for a little bit.
And I'm a follower!
I don't ski...
I am a follower!!
I'll be the one sitting inside watching the others ski while I stay warm and do some kind of handiwork.
I am a happy follower via GFC.
I don´t ski so I will sit and sew.
I do follow!
I would definitely sit on the sidelines! I don't like to be sore :)
I'm a follower ;)
I'd be inside sewing (don't like snow or cold weather).
I'm already a happy follower :)
I never skied nor my kids - our winter sports were basketball (indoors) and I was too busy cheering to work on something.
I don't ski so I would pack a to go bag! Fantastic giveaway!
I am a follower!
I would have my bag along. SK's snowfall is approaching record depths so I want nothing more to do with snow this year. The Park Rapids area of MN is one of our favorite places on earth. We've spent part of every summer there for 25 years. My grandson is the fourth generation to do so.
I would ski for sure -- it has been so long since I did but always loved it. Thank you for a wonderful giveaway --- I absolutely love that fabric line... and in blue... it doesn't get much better than that :)
I am a happy follower :)
I would ski. Carefully though, as my knees aren't what they used to be.
stitch i would break my neck skiing
i follow you
I don't ski so I would be inside where it is warm. Thanks for the giveaway.
I would pack a bag sit inside and stitch!
