The "This Took Forever To Finish, and I Don't Want to Wreck It Quilt"

Ever have one of those projects that you start and you love the way it has turned out, but you are afraid to finish for fear of wrecking it?  I seem to have way too many of those projects, but I finally, finally finished one of them, and I'm so excited about it.

This was one of those quilts that I just couldn't figure out how to quilt.  I didn't want to just stipple it, and the alternating stars and strip blocks just had me struggling with what to do with them.  I finally decided to just try a sort of wave and went to work.  Within a few rows I knew I was going to love it.

I was most concerned with keeping the waves in straight lines, but somehow it all worked out fine and now I'm ready to try it again only on a larger quilt.  Whew, what fun it is to have some finished projects, and I'm so glad I basted that big pile of quilt tops a while back, now I can just grab another and start quilting.  Thankfully we got a little sunshine this morning (that always makes taking photos easier, even if only for a few minutes).  Happy Stitching!!  --Kristen

I've pinned this to my "Patterns to Try" board. Which, admittedly is overflowing, but this will catch my eye when I'm looking for my next project. I love the mix of string blocks and stars, and the colors just pop! Great finish; glad you've finished and shared with us!
