And finished...
Then there is the tree skirt that needs to be completed (and I'm just sure it will be this year even if I put it under the tree on Christmas Eve).
There is the wall hanging that just needs to be quilted and bound...
And the pillows for the sofa. :) It seems I have no shortage of projects to finish, none of which need that much time, just a block of time, and hopefully there will be a few of those interspersed with all the other fun holiday activities (Christmas cards, parties, children's programs, church services, you get my drift). And why do we do it all for one crazy month out of the year? After working for hours on my tree the other day my husband asked if I minded if he took the next month off of work and just stayed home...because the house is always so cozy at Christmas. That is enough reason for me.
To help you maybe start or finish a holiday project or find a completely new on for the new year I'm giving away a $25 gift card to Stitchin' It Up Quilt Shop. To enter leave me a comment of what your favorite holiday activity is, if you are a scrooge, you can let me know that. For a second entry you can let me know you are a follower of my blog. The drawing will be held on November 27, at 8 a.m. For the rest of the participants in the Quilter's Gallery Blog Hop Party go here.
Thanks for visiting and Happy Stitching!! --Kristen

I really dislike the holidays the older I get. It is a lot of work for me...So ech year I seem to cut back a little bit more...But last year I decided to do something different to spice things up and I decided I was going modern and started decorating with the blues and aqua colors. and It made Christmas fun for me again. And it motivated my sister to do the same but now she decorates in white and silver
I love Decorating the tree. Thanks!!

I try to have a danish Christmas every other year, we open presents on Christmas eve AFTER dinner, which is a pork roast with the crispy rind! potatoes, red cabbage and Rice pudding for dessert with chopped almonds and one WHOLE almond (all without the skin of course) whoever gets the whole almond has to keep it a secret until it's all eaten and then he/she gets a present. I've had aunts sneak me the almond under the table at dinner when I was little :)
I love all the holiday crafting I get to do.

I love our christmas eve get together with my family when Santa shows up and the kids get so excited :)
My favorite holiday activity would be spending time with family that I don't see often. Just sitting around enjoying desserts, coffee, and conversation by the fireplace while we try to ignore all of our crazy children and catch up on the past year!
This year we have a baby due mid January and won't be able to travel to home to my husband's family in MN... So I am trying to come up with fun traditions that we can do with our little family of 4 (almost 5).
Ich mag die langen Abende bei Kerzenschein und natürlich auch das Plätzchenbacken.

I love getting together with all of our family. That's about the only time during the year that we can all get together. We have a big dinner and then a white elephant gift exchange and like to see who has the silliest gift!
My favorite holiday activity is going to the Christmas Eve service. I used to be into decorating and baking and all that stuff until I became chronically ill. Now, I just enjoy the beauty of the season and being with family and friends.
I love the feeling you get when the tree is up, that first night, the glow when the lights are off :)
I love putting up the tree and decorations. And baking. My daughter loves making gingerbread cookies, so last year I had to hide the molasses (which has a picture of a gingerbread man), so she wouldn't keep asking!
I don't know if it's the shopping or the baking that I like most. There are so many little nuances that make the whole holiday what it is. Have a great holiday season yourself, thanks for sharing!

When he gets home I'm finished everything is cleaned up and the kitchen table is covered with filled decorated plates ready to be delivered. I like to do it all in 1 day by myself, I wash and clean as I go, it works out great, most of the time. ;-> Toni Anne
