Chimney Sweep

I'm just going to say that this one was interesting...I'm also going to say that mathematically this block does not work.  If you are going to make this block someday, email me, and I'll let you in on my secrets to getting it to work.  This 10-1/2 inch block is called Chimney Sweep and is number 6 of 366.

And yes these corners are supposed to look like this.  Once again, I did learn something...

1.  My husband works with numbers everyday, to my surprise he knows a lot about math, and he was very helpful with getting this block finished.  I also didn't understand a word he said...I just took the measurements and used them.  :)

2.  When I didn't understand the math lesson way back in 3rd grade, I should have gotten help.

3.  When I was in geometry class and I thought I would never use geometry in my life...I was very wrong.

4.  Fractions are IMPORTANT.

I also finished a couple of blocks for the Just Takes 2 quilt.  I needed to work on something a little less mind boggling.  Now, I'm off to try and plan what fabrics to use for the quilt Full House by Carrie Nelson...and I peeked...tomorrow is another easy one! :)  Happy Stitching!!  --Kristen

Kristen, I'm also doing the Takes Two (but don't have a blog, so will probably hook up on Flicker). I'm also using white background with red or red/white fabric. But on a few blocks I think I'm going to make 2 and switch out the background to red so when I go to put it together I can throw those in & see if they add any zing. If not, I can always make pillowcases or a tablerunner out of them. What do you think?
